Rick's codebank is a simple application which, I believe, would be a good learning tool for beginners. When I was first starting out with VB it was nearly impossible to find a complete working project to learn from. Books and manuals talk all around a subject but never really show you how to do anything practical. They give you a few snippets of code, but never a project complete enough to give you the big picture.

The purpose of this code is to make the derivation procedure. This code derivates a function (eg. 12x2+3x to 24x+3, for those who know how to derivate). Well, this is my first code on pscode so I hope you enjoy it. Please vote and/or leave your comments on my code in order to improve it. PD: Sorry for my english, im from Chile. PD: Im thinking on a new update that can work with negative exponents.

I extracted 100s of icons from shell32.dll, winword.exe, exel.exe, flash.exe, cool.dll, moricons.dll, pifmgr.dll and calculated time... Believe me, I was amazed because I do it all in only 15 seconds !!!. More over I have added some special features like changing the extracted Folder's icon, Writing a readme.txt file which contains all the file informations specially "ICON ALLOCATION" with which you can create some software that changes icon of "Self-Extractor of ZIP", Flash exe projector icon changer etc. Please Please Please VOTE FOR ME. (IconEX 3.00 release on 2nd November 2002 - extract only 32x32 size of icons in resolution of 256 colors)

Edit the version informations of file. The codes are so easy and that you can add many more properties to the program. Just a few minutes are required to understand the codes and thats all. You can see its preview. Please vote for me.

This program adds meanless bytes to a file and therefore increases it's size. The files will still work correctly after this. I was bored when I made this, and is not hard at all.

Just think you can create more then one titlebar in your own form... Easiest functions a baby can learn. Moreover a complete HTML Document is included in the zip file which defines each part of functions and procedures. Please vote for me.

clsASMpic is a simple class that makes possible REALTIME image manipulation of even large pictures in visual basic. this is accomplished using precompiled assembler code (machine code) in the time critical sections. it has a real wealth of functions, eg rotating and scaling with antialiasing, invertion and grayscaling, art effects like relief and smoothing, colour effects - each colour +/-, brightness ...and many more - plus some really nice and weird ideas. I did my best to encapsulate everything into one single class and make calling its powerful functions as easy as possible. information hiding at its best. by using enums, the functions become self explanatory. decent error checking, to be improved (for example don't quit your prog until your loop of one degree rotation steps has finished...). even loading and saving pics with the standard dialog is handled. --- updates: new examples (both main and additional project), possibility to do several effects without drawing each intermediate result (prevents flickering, allows undo of whole filter-arrays), chose color dialog. --- ...have fun experimenting and using this really handy piece of code! :)

Syntax coloring, advanced selection routines and Highlighting. Highlighting using the Richtextbox control is awkward. Whilst there are a host of Selection properties there is no Highlight property we can access from VB. We just have to parse the RTF code.

This is a class that will make it easy to save and set the column widths for your flexgrids by writing or reading the column widths from a ini file that you name. I did not write the iniclass that is included. I downloaded it from planet source code web site I think. Please forgive me for not remembering who submitted that code. Levenshtein edit distance is a measure of the similarity between two strings. Edit distance is the the minimum number of character deletions, insertions, substitutions, and transpositions required to transform string1 into string2. In essence, the function is used to perform a fuzzy or approximate string search. This is very handy for trying to find the "correct" string for one that has been entered incorrectly, mistyped, etc. The code has been optimized to find strings that are very similar. A "limit" parameter is provided so the function will quickly reject strings that contain more than k mismatches.
