Requires FMOD.DLL. Download at http://www.fmod.org before using. This is a simple informative player that plays MOD, IT, XM, and S3M files. If you don't know them, it is a good thing to know for game programmers. These types of files are MP3 quality files with no compression, but a little bit more size compared to a MIDI file. It is basicallly a set of samples and commands of when to play them, and transposition so they can make notes. I never seen one made in VB, so I made it just to see if it is possible. I spent only 10min on version one, and 5hours on bug fixes. Overall, it is just some API with FMOD.DLL. The system needs to be shutdown before using. I used the API for the Opening Dialog as they say the less custom controls, the better (this one uses none). I wrote this all by myself. This does not display the length of the song. It is because you need to fastfoward play this as fast as possible and sending the sound to nowhere to find out the length. The format is very complicated, more complicated than wav and midi multiplied as they made the format weird. Like Rows 1,3 at the beginning, 2,4 at the end, 5,7 before 1,3, and 4,6 after 2,4. That makes it almost impossble to load.

This is an update of a previous work (which seemed to dissapear from PSC when I tried to edit the entry, so I'll delete my previous entry if it shows up again). This application is a demonstration of a particle system designed to create fireworks, although it can easily be adapted to other things. It includes attributes for position, velocity, color, and aging for each particle in the system. This is a preliminary demo, and I will soon update its framework and use DirectX for the drawing. This example program shows you how to use GetBitmapBits and SetBitmapBits for super fast pixel manipulation. Please note that I chose to turn a picture negative to show you the basics of these 2 APIs and that there are faster ways to turn a picture negative. Such as using BitBlt, but BitBlt is not capable of manipulating individual pixels, it just transfers a block of picture bits with various options. Please see XasanSoft's submission using BitBlt to turn a picture negative. This could also be used for changing a pictures brightness level or Red, Green and Blue tints. The posibilites are endless! With this example, you should never have to use GetPixel and SetPixel again for pixel manipulation. This is only slightly more complicated than them and 10 times faster. Enjoy the code!

Disable/Enable the Display control panel so when you right-click on the desktop and choose Properties or when you go to control panel and choose Display, it will restrict showing the display dialog so you cant make changes to the system current settings.

Ok so my game is probably not "massive" multi player but after looking for examples of online games on psc i found there were none that support more than 2 people having the server and the client play each other. In my WarBotz game the players connect to one server that only maintains and sends information and is not involved in the game (just like a real server). As long as there are ports to connect to there can be as many players (server probably will not be able to handle so many). To game its self uses a lot of win32 api including bitblt to make the game run faster/nicer. The code is fully commented i hope you enjoy my game and if u like it or not please vote something and/or leave comments I want to know how i could improve on it or what people think of it thanks =)
